What is Solar Energy?

Energy received from the Sun is called Solar Energy. It is freely available and the most important natural source of energy for all living things. Earth receives 15000 fold more sunlight everyday than its requirement. Solar energy decrease the dependence on conventional energy and available everywhere with individual control over electricity production and usage.

This form of renewable energy is pollution free and doesn’t pose any threat to the environment. Solar energy can be converted to electrical energy using solar panels.Solar energy is considered as the most cleanest and renewable form of energy available on earth. Due to the high cost of state electricity more people are taking advantages of solar energy for different proposes like water heating, rural electrifications & industrial productions.

Uses of Solar Energy

Solar energy can be used for generating cheap electricity using modern devices to convert the solar light into electrical energy. Solar cells and Photovoltaic cells are used for capturing energy form Sunlight. It is widely used for Domestic and Industrial water heating solutions as well as for rural electrification process. Solar energy systems use modern technologies to convert sunlight into electricity. Uses of Solar energy in India has gained momentum in India after the commissioning of world’s first solar Airport in Kochi, India in 2015.

India Solar

India is blessed with rich solar resources. Abundant sunlight and its geographical location have helped India solar energy to become the most sought after energy option for the country. Frequent power shortage, absence of sufficient electrical grids and rural electrification has further boosted the scope of solar energy in the State. At present India is ranked 7th for the production of solar PV cell.

Indian Solar has the potential to become the cheap alternative energy solution with government support and adopting new technologies to reduce the production cost of Indian solar energy.

Future of Solar Energy in India

The future of solar energy looks very bright in India with the government decision to promote green energy throughout the country. Solar panel installation in India is increasing around 15 percent per year with the commencement of Solar Photovoltaic expansion plans. Installation of solar panel systems has become more popular and affordable in India with most of the state governments started solar awareness programs and subsidies to install solar panels and solar water heaters for residential use.

Government of India has shown its eagerness to promote India solar by allocating Rs 5036 Crore for renewable energy sector in the union budget 2015-2016 with a target of achieving 1,00000 MW solar energy capacity till 2022. Future of Solar Energy is very bright in India with government reducing the excise duty of Solar Panels form 12 percent to 6 percent to bring down the cost of Solar panels systems.

Advantages & Disadvantages of Solar Energy

Solar Energy has its own advantages and disadvantages. Number of advantages of Solar energy is far ahead of disadvantages. But it is better to go through the Pros and Cons of Solar Energy before taking a decision to purchase any solar energy product.

10 Advantages of Solar Energy.
