After Cochin Airport in Kerala became the world's first fully solar powered airport in the world, the state government has launched India’s first solar boat “Aditya”, a solar powered ferry operating between Vaikkom and Thavanakkadavu. With the launch of eco friendly boat the state government plans to replace the existing fleet of diesel boats with environment friendly solar powered boats throughout the state. Kerala has launched many solar projects with an aim to generate the power required to meet the energy needs.
